Dates to be sure of

Please be sure you have booked weekends July 7 thru August 26th for the 2012 Time Travel Weekends. We look forward to our 3rd season in Historic Old Sacramento. All performers are automatically members of the "Red Barn Players" and we want you there as much as possible! Join the fun in the streets and on the stages or teaching in the Victorian Academy.

Workshops, set-up and rehearsals will take place on the weekend of June 30/July 1 ONLY. This weekend is NOT required. Stay tuned in future missives for a list of free workshops offered for those who want to 'tune-up", warm-up and help out.

New shows for Eagle

Fun, Funny and Fast Paced... that's the criteria for this year's shows. The Golden Melodeon will be "Sponsored" this year by Mr. Mark Twain (portrayed this season by Jeffrey Weissman). The MC/Chairman will be played by none other than, Uncle Sam himself (Will Wood), and the SHOWS! ...variety act, dance performance and musical act requests being accepted now: Contact Jeffrey Weissman at the e-mail below. There will also be a NEW MELODRAMA directed by Julie St. Germain and Gary Grossman. Hoo-Ray!

Cookie is cookin'

Your loving and devoted chief chef, Cookie (aka Kimbell Jackson) is cookin' up more delicious ideas for this summer's cuisine. Please contact her at the email below if you would like to learn more and help out.

Gary joins Directors

Mr. Gary Grossman joined the cast last year as a performer/director, and has been promoted this year to director/performer. He is now one of our in-house "Big 4" of Robert, Jeffrey, Wells & now Gary! (Chase will not be joining us this year due to family obligations in the bay area). Please give Gary your full support and including an enthusiastic raspberry once in a while just for fun. Gary will be focused on staging all shows in the Eagle and we are darn lucky to have him.

Victorian Academy needs volunteers

Wells & Kathleen and Company will once again be creating hands-on fun in the North end of the Depot. They have plans for exciting new/old games and activities. Please email Wells if you would like to get involved or just drop by. Look for many details in future missives.

Parades plan in the making

The number and frequency of daily parades will shrink slightly to allow more energy for those that we want to focus on. Wells will be working up new signs to carry and will be looking for clever slogans. Please email him directly (address below) if you would like to make suggestions or help with the 'art'.

Gold Rush Days in flux

Red Barn Productions is not involved in producing the entertainment for the Labor Day Weekend event, "Gold Rush Days." This is because the planning & budgeting switched from the Museum staff back to the Convention and Visitors Bureau staff this year. It is a huge effort and the Museums (Sac & RR) decided to hand it back to the CVB this year. It is possible that Red Barn may do a show or two, but as yet nothing has been requested. All Red Barn Players are heartily encouraged to plan to come in costume and to volunteer for HOSF. More details as they become available.

New Event - Union Pacific 150th - Save the date!

The 150th anniversary of the creation of the Union Pacific Railroad is this year and planning for a big celebration is underway! Please mark your calendars for the weekend of September 29/30! Stay tuned, big things are comin' down the tracks...

Speaking of which, we are now only 7.5 weeks till show time!!!
